Product Review: Hair One is a awesome Co wash!! and ROTC Updates
Hi Naturalistas
I am a pretty low maintenance type of girl. I am not a product junkie and I do not have a hair regimen I however do love one product. That would be my Hair One Click ====> Hair One at Sallys cleansing conditioner. OmG It is thebomb.com It is a de-tangler, moisturizer, and leave in all at one! Some people like to refer to it as the "bootleg" or cheap version of the Wen that is like $30 a bottle and you have to order. Hair One is sold at sally for only $11.99. I have tried 3 types so far. The argon oil, the olive oil, and the regular for all hair types. The olive oil was essential for helping my hair while transitioning but I found it not right once I became fully natural. I did not like the heaviness of the argon oil formula for my hair type but for a friends she loved it. So maybe you 4b and 4c ladies would like to try this one! The normal one works PERFECT for my hair now and makes my hair smell so good!! I used it to achieve this braid out. Also they have a sample of these products at sallys for around $2 so you can try each formula and see what works for your curls!! Hair One is a staple for my curls!!!

Naturally Happy Hair...Finally Something Just For US!!!!
So who or what is Naturally Happy Hair? Well Naturally Happy Hair is a awesome Brand founded by Crystal Knight in 2011. This brand empowers women to Embrace their natural beauty from Head to Toe. I had the pleasure of attending a event in Texas last year and really enjoyed myself. The event was organized, had a variety of vendors, catered food, inspiring speakers, and the vibe was awesome, just the right mix of people for socializing, and networking. Naturally Happy Hair also has a magazing launch coming spring. This is a much needed nitch that should be filled. With the growing natural hair community us curly girls need a place to call our own. We need support groups, and books, and magazines to read and so forth. Chimere Norris is the Co-Founder and Editor in Chief of Naturally Happy Hair Magazine. I am very excited to see two women of color starting something for us curly girls. I will be purchasing a years subscription for support and to do my review. I want ideas and product reviews, interviews with professional women that have curly hair. I want to feel like I am not alone and I want to be able to read a magazine I can identify with.
We curlies know that sometimes it can be frustrating and lonely having natural hair. Yes now there is a movement but in the beginning the naturals were few and far between and still in some minds less "appropriate" in certain settings.. Also we can be featured in magazines but have yet to have a home of our own. Well now we do. I am happy and proud to support women embracing themselves from the top of their "nappy" heads to the bottom of their soles!! The only thing I have left to say about naturally happy hair founders are YOU GO GIRLS!!! I am supporting these ladies business and I hope you will too. Check out their websites at => naturallyhappyhair don't forget to subscribe to their twitter, facebook, and Instagram for the latest news and pics! And if you are in the Houston Texas area come on out and show some love to their event curlfriends and conversations Click here to see event!! just in time for International Natural Hair Meetup Day. Stay tuned for more updates from this brand

Fashion and some of my Fav Youtube Naturalistas
I have a secret for you...I am a thrift store shopper!! There is something about the uncertainty of finding unique items each time I walk in a thrift store. As this season of spring trends arrive I look for a more cost efficient way to be a fashionista. This season is full of pastels, prints, acid wash and high wasted jeans. Accessories include arm candy, pearls, chunky jewelry and big earrings! Also I am loving the 80's look and it is coming back with a vengeance ! There is something for every body type and every hair style!! I have several youtubers I am obsessed with their fashion style and natural hair styles. Check their channels out tonidaley80, misstonidaley and rymingtahn's. These ladies have SWAG and will take items from everywhere (etsy, thrift stores, or regular department stores) and will create a head to toe outfit that is unique, trendy, and easy to follow. They both do natural hairstyles to go with each outfit and makeup too. Miss Toni Daley I have been following for awhile and she is a natural hair vlogger has many tutorials I have followed, outfits of the day and more! She has a etsy shop of her own and supports small business and has several lines that will be a part of the vendors at Return of The Curls Events this summer at Both Virginia and North Carolina (go to www.returnofthecurl.com for tickets, information and more) I am new to rymingtahn's channel but fell in love with her spirit and her channel. She is not afraid to wear any type of look and her make up is on point! Check these ladies out they are awesome naturalistas :
How I grew my hair: Hair Maintence
Hair maintenance is something I admit I grow tired just thinking about. I love love love low maintenance hair styling. As all of you curly girls, naturalistias, and even those transitioning will agree that maintaining natural hair requires a little more time than just having a relaxer. Product trying alone can be costly and time consuming. Here are 3 ways I have learn experimenting as far as maintain the health of my hair, achieving growth and retaining length by reducing the amount of trims I need to have.
Relaxed 2010
Natural 2013
1. Take your time!! So often we want to rush to do out hair. We do not want to take time to take down any previous hairstyles or section our hair when combing or we simply do not plan enough time to wash, detangle, and condition our hair. Take your time. Plan out your regime It will take a few hours especially when you are deep conditioning so take your time, schedule your hair time and your hair will thank you for it.
2. Know when to deep condition and do protein treatments!! So many naturalistias are not happy with their braid outs, twist outs and so forth because their hair is dry, dull, or hard. When your hair strand becomes dry it is usually time for a deep condition. Deep conditioners can either be bought or made at home with some essential oils in combination with a conditioner and a heat cap or cholesterol cap and a towel. You decide what you want to spend. Remember the cost does not necessarily equal the quality. Before you spend $40 on conditioner try a more cost efficient product or ask to try a sample first! Many companies send samples of their products upon request so it does not hurt to ask!! Also there will be plenty of vendors at all of the Return of The Curls Events in Virginia and North Carolina so get your tickets www.returnofthecurls.com and you will have a lot of samples to try so you can see what works for your unique hair!!
3. Be patient!!! This is by far the most difficult for me to do. When I was transitioning I looked at all of my favorite youtubers curly hair and how pretty their braid out and twist outs were! I wanted long curly hair and I wanted it NOW!! Lol obviously it takes time to grow hair and the process may seem as slow as watching paint dry but the same amount of effort you put into your hair is the results you will get back! If it seems like its taking forever toss a protective style in it for a few months (remember to protect your hair while in a protective style by moisturizing and making sure your edges are not tight if wearing 2-strand twists or braids especially with extensions) I protective styled about 90% of my transitioning and I protective style around 60% still. It is easier for me however this summer I will be experimenting with more braid and twist outs and wash and go since my hair has more length on it.
So there you go those are 3 ways I maintain my hair. It has been a year since I cut the last of my relaxed ends off and I transitioned for a year. For anyone that will be at the North Carolina Expo I will be there so feel free to say hi if you see me. You can get your tickets for the North Carolina and the Virginia at www.returnofthecurls.com Right now there are V.I.P. tickets on sale for the North Carolina event until April 1st. This event is sure to be a sold out event with featured guest Curly Nikki!! Do not wait or hesitate get your tickets NOW!!
